What have you been doing the last 5 years?
5 years ago I was racing full time on the FIS circuit, having just come back from an ACL repair and Covid! I’ve just finished my 4th year studying medicine in Aberdeen where I’ve been able to combine my love for skiing, racing, coaching, studying and outdoor pursuits!

Why are you passionate about skiing?

Nothing beats the feeling of freedom from skiing! I love challenging, pushing myself and going as fast as I can on skis. I’m so fortunate to have had the opportunities that I’ve had whilst growing up – training on dryslopes, Scottish snow and then in the Alps when I was older. Through my experiences racing and training, I’ve been able to learn so much both on the slopes and also personally, overcoming challenges and adversity. I love being able to share and cultivate my enthusiasm with all the athletes as they progress!

What do you love about coaching?

I love being able to give back to the sport that has given me so much and being able to see the progression in athletes on and off the slope.

Best day ever on skis?

Whilst coaching in NZ, I got the opportunity to forerun the women's SG in the New Zealand games. It had been a couple of years since I had raced anything bigger than Slalom, and I was on all borrowed kit – including my old coach's Olympic race suit and skis! It was so much fun to be back in the start gate and back going fast in such an impressive landscape!

3 words to describe yourself?

  • Fun Loving

  • Hard working

  • Enthusiastic

Your biggest strength as a coach?

I’ve a wealth of experience from racing for over 15 years and coaching for over 7. Having had many different coaches from across the world and coached a huge range of abilities and ages, I’m keen to pass on my knowledge and love for skiing to the next generation!

What do you bring to Team CDC?

Positivity, energy, athlete-centred coaching! Like the CDC ethos – Fun first and encouraging athletes to be challenged and improve: "I never lose - I win or I learn", fostering a growth mindset and expanding horizons for every athlete.
