Bormio English Alpine Champs

1 and 2 week options

Feb 6th - 13th Training Week

Feb 13th - 20th English Champs Race Week

What isn’t there to love about Bormio - great food, amazing pistes, lots of terrain to train on and the English races are so well organised that everyone always has the opportunity to ski their best and have fun.

For Who? - 8-18 year olds (U12 Minis on their first camp to be accompanied by parents - individual cases will be considered based on past camp experiences. U10s on a day only basis.)

Why CDC?

With a wealth of experience, our team of Chemmy, Dougie, Jan Kochalski, Charlie Luke (all former GB team members) and the incredibly talented Lewis Reid, have the skills to bring out the best in others both on and off the hill. With fantastic coach to athlete ratios (not more than 6 athletes to one coach), we believe in creating the best possible environment for our trainees to develop. From the obvious technical and tactical skills, to psychological- mental confidence and facing fears; to fun and interesting physical training sessions addressing individual needs and video analysis to ski tuning -  we can delve as deep into this sport as our trainees want.

Who are the Coaches?

Chemmy Alcott is one of the UK’s most successful World Cup skiers accumulating World Cup points in 4 disciplines who know brings her passion for the sport to coaching and mentoring young athletes as well as presenting BBC Ski Sunday.

Dougie Crawford is one of Britain’s fastest male Alpine racers who reached 98mph during a world cup downhill in Wengen. As Head Coach for CDC he brings strong management and enthusiastic coaching techniques together.

Lewis Reid is a passionate and very popular new addition to our team for Winter 2018/19 and brings both fun and a high level of technical insight with his detailed coaching eye and truckload of new and exciting drills and ideas.

Very lucky to have Jan Kochalski  (a multiple time coach of the GB Childrens Team) back again for this camp. As a former team mate of Dougie’s he is a work horse and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to making every experience better for the athletes.

Charlie Luke is new to our team Winter 2019/20. A former CDC racer who achieved multiple podiums at both the English and GB champs has a huge hunger to support younger CDC athletes achieve their very best. With very recent racer knowledge, he still has the passion for the sport and has already proved to be an insightful and exciting coach.

Aim

Transition those training turns into the race. Be confident enough to take a risk and fulfil your potential.

The training week is the perfect period to get race ready and familiarise athletes with the Bormio environment. Time is set aside daily for school work. We also have a relationship with a tutor who could travel and stay with the group (at a supplementary cost.)
